She Argues With Police And Is Neither Cuffed Or Tasered

Janet Huckabee, the wife of former Arkansas governor and potential 2012 GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee, was recently involved in a multi-car traffic accident that later sparked an argument with the officer who appeared on the scene.
The Tolbert Report provides a transcript for part of the conversation which is posted below. They also provide information about how the incident was resolved in court.
Janet Huckabee - "Did she say I was on the phone?"
Trooper Blackmon - "Ma'am, that has nothing to do with it."
Huckabee - "It has everything to do with it.
Trooper - "No it doesn't."
Huckabee - "It has to do with whether I am telling the truth or not."
Trooper - "Okay, they gave me an exact description of your vehicle. I mean..."
Huckabee - "That's why I stopped up here. Yeah, that's right. I realize there was a vehicle and we were both merging."
Trooper - "They gave me an exact description of your vehicle. They told me exactly what you were doing. You told me that you were going into their lane as well."
Huckabee - "Did she tell you I was talking on the phone?"
Trooper - "Ma'am, that has nothing to do with..."
Huckabee - "I just want an answer from you. Did she tell you I was talking on the phone?"
Trooper - "She didn't tell me. The passenger told me."
Huckabee - "That is a lie. That is an out lie."
Trooper - "Ma'am, I don't have anything to..."
Huckabee - "So if that is a lie how can I know that the other part is not a lie."
Trooper - "Ma'am, you verified it by your own statement."
Huckabee - "I said I was merging but I said she was merging."
Trooper - "Okay, well she said she wasn't merging."
Huckabee - "She also said I was on the phone. So if one is a lie, why shouldn't the other be a lie."

Bomb Found On Route Of Martin Luther King Parade

In Spokane, Washington the FBI offered a reward Tuesday for information about a potentially lethal bomb found in a backpack along the downtown route of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade.
The discovery before Monday's parade for the slain civil rights leader raised the possibility of a racial motive in a region that has been home to the white supremacist Aryan Nations. Read the full story.
African American GOP Official Resigns Because of Tea Party Threats

The only black Republican Party district chairman in Arizona resigned from his post in the wake of Saturday's shooting, citing threats from the Tea Party faction and concerns for his family's safety.
Republican District 20 Chairman Anthony Miller was not the only party official to resign following the shooting that killed six and wounded 14 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) and a federal judge.
"I wasn't going to resign but decided to quit after what happened Saturday," he said. "I love the Republican Party but I don't want to take a bullet for anyone." Read the full story as reported in the Arizona Republic.
Saggy Pants Billboards

A lawmaker from Brooklyn, NY has been inspired by the Larry Platt song, "Pants on the Ground." According to Platt who is an American idol and Youtube sensation with almost 6 million hits, says that he was inspired to write the song when he was walking one day and saw a guy with his pants on the ground and a baby bottle in his mouth.
State Senator Eric Adams has a message for the youth of America: Stop the Sag! The State Senator has installed six billboards in the borough. The ads show two men, with their underwear showing above their low sung jeans. “We are better than this!” the billboards read. “Raise your pants, raise your image.”
Saggy pants is a trend that has been copied from prison inmates. Inmates have saggy pants because they cannot wear belts in prison. Since belts can be used as weapons and they can also be used to hang oneself, prison inmates are not allowed to have them. This is why the prison inmate pants sag.
Freedom is more valuable than being locked up so it is confusing to many why something that originated in prison for those that have lost their freedom has been emulated by the teenagers and adults that are free.
Since there is no value in having a prison guard control an inmate's every waking hour, inmates should be emulating free men instead of it being the other way around.

African American Charter School Sends 100 Percent Of Students To College

Urban Prep Academy is an all male charter school in Chicago. It has done what many thought was impossible. Every single senior attending the high school has been accepted into a 4 year college or university. This is the school's first graduating class.
What is most impressive is that this school is operating in an area where poverty is high and most of their students are considered low income. According to their website, 82% of their students are low income in a district with 85% and a neighborhood with a 93% low income rate.
Furthermore, the school is a public high school open to anyone. They use a lottery system to select the students. The 2010 graduating class started out 4 years ago with only 4% of students reading on grade level.
Since the school offers an 8 hour school day, students typically put in more than 170 extra school days per year than many high schools. The students must take a double period of English every day and 4 years of Math, Science, and Social Studies. Everyone must also take 3 years of Foreign Language.
This charter school could potentially be a model school for schools in this country that are low performing. School administrators should consider sending their diplomats to the school to find out the main reasons for Urban Prep Academy's success.
High levels of low income students in a school generally translates into poor performing schools. Urban Prep Academy has beaten the odds and one has to hope that they have found a formula that can be duplicated and will prove to be successful over time.
ABC News named the school "Person Of The Week."Read the story.
The Homicide Report & President Obama
The Los Angeles Times has a section on their website that makes it difficult for anyone to forget all of the gun related murders typically involving African Americans and Latinos.
Everyone knows that illegal guns is a problem in America. These guns are behind too many of the murders in inner cities. Some of the murders included on The Homicide Report have actually taken place in broad daylight.
It is almost like the Wild Wild West in some communities. Interestingly, we do not hear of these criminals using grenades or other explosive devices in the way they are used by terrorists in other countries.
There is a logical explanation. The U.S. government must have the ability to monitor almost all bomb making inventory and devices. Being able to track the materials, inventory, and the players involved keeps these devices out of the hands of criminals and terrorists.
When a group of people give their overwhelming support to a President, they should receive something in return. One place to start would be to ask the President to place a high priority on significantly reducing illegal gun related crime.
There would be strong resistance from many in this country that believe the U.S. Constitution gives them gun rights. No one that uses guns for collection, hunting, security or any other legal reasons should have to give up their guns. In addition, Americans should not have have limits placed on their ability to buy as many guns as they desire as long as they are purchased legally.
President Obama and the U.S. government could advocate for a monitoring and tracking system for handguns similar to the one being used to make sure that bomb making components do not end up in the wrong hands. This would be sensible and it would make a big difference in the lives of too many Americans to count.

Keepin It Gangsta
Many of us have grown up in one of the many hoods in America. In these neighborhoods or "Hoods" there are many widely held beliefs that are never held up to the light of the truth. One such belief is the "Keeping it Gangsta" mantra that you hear on subways, on the streets, in barbershops, night clubs, etc. Basically anywhere there are young black men. Let’s look at some of the beliefs of those that "Keep it Gangsta" and how their actions are not only far from "Gangsta", but reveals a deep self hate that is hard to ignore.
In America the word "Gangsta" is most commonly associated with the Italian Mafia, aka "Organized Crime". Many rappers have named themselves after Italian American gangsters. "Capone", "Irv Gotti" "Three Six Mafia" "Junior Mafia", are a few examples.
The real Mafia has their own set of rules and here are a couple of them. First, they will try very hard not to commit crime in their own neighborhood while they are involved in illegal activities to earn a living. Second, they also believe that women and children are off limits when it comes to their criminal activity. One way to insure a quick death from this green earth is to try and sustain criminal activity in a mob run neighborhood.
Third, they also believe in taking care of family first. Most Italian American gangsters believe in being married and raising a family. Fourth, Mob guys have been very successful using their money from illegal and criminal activity to invest in legitimate business. Fifth, Mafia organizations believe in placing their members on a ladder of power just like the military with those at the top having more power than those at the bottom.
These real gangstas usually do not run their criminal operations out of their own neighborhoods, daring anyone from law enforcement to the residents to do something about it. Let’s see how the "Keeping it Gangsta" crowd measures up.
So is it safe to assume that those in the Hood that "Keep it Gangsta" do not commit crimes in their own neighborhood? That they exclude women and children from their criminal activity? That for all their negatives, they at least take care of family first?
The truth is the only place the "Keeping it Gangsta" crowd commits crimes is in their own neighborhoods. Selling drugs, robbery, murder, and assault all goes on in the very same "hood" these so-called "gangstas" live in. They prey on their own people, afraid to even dream of committing their misdeeds in a white neighborhood. That would be truly gangsta.
This is why "black on black crime" is out of control in the hoods of this country. All the so-called gangstas are afraid to take their show on the road and see how it plays out. White people love to point out that black men are always killing other black men. They commit crimes against their own people all the time. Their actions simply destroy their neighborhoods.
How about protecting the women and children from the nasty under belly of their criminal activity? Innocent women and children are killed by stray gun fire daily in the hood. Women are also left to raise children on their own. The majority of women in the hood almost never becomes a wife and almost always becomes a “baby momma”. Too many kids in the hood are abandoned and left fatherless because “baby daddy” is either a dead beat dad, in jail, or six feet under.
The Italian Americans in the Mafia believe in family and try their best to raise their children in a home with a wife. This is a home that they will one day own after paying off the mortgage. Too many “Keeping it Gangsta” brothers never own a home and are either renters or living with Mom. Owning a home has always been one of the best investments a person could make in America because the value over time will increase and the property can be passed on to loved ones when one dies.
How often do we see illegal money in the hood being invested in legal businesses that really add value to the community. The last time it was checked, most of the businesses in the hood were owned by people that do not live in the hood and do not look like the guys that are "Keepin it Gangsta".
When did "Keepin it Gangsta" come to mean that you are a gangsta because no one tells you what to do? This was actually stated by Lil Wayne in a documentary about the rapper. This statement does not pass the truth test. Gangstas do what they are told to do all the time. There is a hierarchy in the the world of organized crime with one person at the top of every Mafia family.
This one person is the only one person in the organization that does not answer to anybody. He also got to where he is by being extremely good at doing what he was told to do. To not follow orders and do what one wants to do in the Mafia is a good way to get fitted for a pair of custom made cement boots.
One thing the "Keepin it Gangsta" crowd does have in common with the Italian Mafia is that they both believe in the "don’t snitch, stop snitching" or "don’t be a rat" mantra. The difference is the Mafia believes in not ratting out other mobsters that are committing crimes in other people’s neighborhoods.
The "Keeping it Gangsta" crowd believes in not "snitching" on those that are murdering and assaulting our brothers, beating our mothers, sisters and daughters, and selling drugs in their own neighborhoods, and killing our children with stray gun fire. The Mafia believes in keeping quiet about crimes that destroys other people’s neighborhoods while the “Keeping it Gangsta” guys believe in keeping quiet about crimes that are destroying their own neighborhoods.
Let’s be clear about one thing. Anyone can sit down, keep their mouth shut, and not speak out. It takes a tough guy to stand up and speak out when he realizes that it is his own people and community that is almost always on the losing end of the do not snitch policy in the hood.
What are the contributions of the "keep it gangsta" giants? Crimes in the hood almost never get solved because too many tough guy deaf mute witnesses are "Keeping it Gangsta".
It is interesting that in almost every instance, the silence and or actions of the "Keeepin it Gangsta" crowd hurts people who look like and face the same struggles as him. All of his anger, hatred and bitterness are directed toward people who look like him. If the “Keepin it Gangsta” brothers really want to be mobsters, then they should try to be like the Italian American Mafia by owning profitable bussinesses while also supporting their families and building up their communities.
